As a young boy Kenny spent many hours making and designing everything from diving belts to sail boats with his father Bill Lee an outdoor enthusiast and tool designer by trade.
Put the two together along with Ken’s 8 children and 17 grandchildren and you get a group of people that have built, tested, used, camped, and raced for just about 120 years.
We have been developing EMS products with a team staffed with paramedics for over 30 years. Now you the consumer can have the same products the EMS professionals use.
- In 2005 Race 401 started after many request for “that cool kit you have”. At this time we knew we could provide the same style products we have been providing to Paramedics for over 30 years to you the outdoor enthusiast.
- 2007 we attended SCORE Baja 1000 – Tech and Contingency and it was so successful realized this was more than a passion and the fun hasn’t stopped.
- 2009 after being asked time and time again what we use to start fires we added our long time favorite fire starter, Jeremiah Drygulch Spark & Shred and Fire Cubs to our product line. The Spark & Shred is a fire starter and tender producing product that Ken developed and used on a weekly basis since 1991.
- 2012 We introduced the new 401-R kit that will fit around the padded Jeep roll bar and found that it was a bit hit at the Moab Easter Jeep Safari.
- 2015 we added the camp section with stoves and food kits. As with all of our products this section is filled with products the race401 team uses and has fully tested.
